About
A small St Paul company doing one thing carefully
Bloomlake Transportation LLC is a Minnesota non-emergency medical transportation provider based on South Robert Street in St Paul, led by its president, Abdirisaq Abdi.
Why this company exists
What we can say plainly: missing a dialysis session or a post-surgical follow-up because a ride did not show up is not an inconvenience, it is a health event. Non-emergency medical transportation is judged on one thing, which is whether the vehicle is there when it said it would be.
Bloomlake is built small and deliberately. Every ride is confirmed by a person before it happens, and the person who answers the phone knows the schedule.
What we are licensed to do
In Minnesota, medical transportation is regulated. These are the three things that matter, and Bloomlake holds all three.
MnDOT licensed
Minnesota requires medical transportation providers to hold a Special Transportation Service certificate from the Department of Transportation, with a current vehicle list on file. Bloomlake operates under that license.
NPI on file
A National Provider Identifier is what allows covered rides to be billed to Medical Assistance or a health plan rather than to the rider.
Insured
Commercial coverage is carried on the vehicles used to transport riders. Facilities that need a certificate of insurance before referring can request one.
For facilities and case managers
If you arrange transportation for other people, you are the reason a company like this survives, and you have a harder job than the riders do. You need a provider who answers, who takes the standing schedule seriously, and who tells you early when something will not work.
Bloomlake will set up a standing arrangement so you are not re-entering the same rider details every week, and will give you one number and one person to call.
Straight answers about capacity
Bloomlake is ambulatory only right now, and wheelchair service is not running yet. If a rider needs a lift-equipped vehicle or a stretcher today, we will tell you that on the first call rather than after you have built a schedule around us.
