Signature service

Wait & Return, for sedation and same-day procedures

Some appointments end with strict instructions: do not drive, and do not leave alone. For those days, a simple two-way booking is not enough. With Wait & Return, your Bloomlake driver brings you in, stays close while you are seen, and is ready the moment you are released. No second dispatch to arrange, no sitting in a recovery chair wondering how you will get home.

It is the right fit for colonoscopies, dental sedation, eye procedures, and any visit where the clinic requires an arranged ride home.

Standing rides

Treatment that repeats deserves a ride that repeats

Dialysis three mornings a week. Chemotherapy on a cycle. Physical therapy every Tuesday. Wound care until it heals. When your care follows a schedule, your transportation should too.

Call once and we set up a standing ride: the same pickup times, week after week, without rebooking every trip. There is no program to join and nothing extra to pay for scheduling. Tell us your treatment calendar and we will build around it.

Payment

Two ways to pay, both kept simple

Many medical ride companies take only one or the other. Bloomlake serves both covered riders and private pay riders, so one phone number works for your whole family.

Insurance and Medical Assistance

If your rides are covered by Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) or a participating health plan, we handle the paperwork side. Bloomlake keeps a National Provider Identifier on file, so covered rides can be billed to your coverage rather than to you.

Not sure whether your plan covers rides? Call us. We will help you find out.

Private pay

No coverage, or a trip your plan does not include? Book it directly. You get a clear price for the ride before it is booked, so there are no surprises when you arrive.

Private pay works well for family visits to clinics, dental and eye appointments, and rides arranged by adult children for a parent.

How we ride

From your door, not the curb

We do not honk from the street. Your driver comes to the door, offers a steady arm if you want one, and makes sure you are settled before the vehicle moves. At the destination, we see you to the entrance, not just the parking lot.

One local number, one team

When you call (612) 314-3637, you reach the people who actually schedule and dispatch your ride, not a national call center. Caregivers and clinic staff can call the same number to arrange rides on a rider's behalf.

Know the car

Look for the decal on the door

Every Bloomlake vehicle carries the company name and its USDOT number on the front door. If a car pulls up without it, it is not us, and you do not have to get in.

Your driver comes to the door rather than waiting at the curb, so you should not have to work out which vehicle is yours from a window.

Wheelchair-accessible rides are on the way

Bloomlake carries ambulatory riders today, meaning people who can walk to and from the vehicle on their own or with a cane, a walker, or a steady arm. Wheelchair-accessible service is the next thing we are adding.

If you or the person you care for rides in a wheelchair, tell us now. We will put you on the waitlist and call you the moment the service is running, rather than leaving you to check back.

The kind of vehicle Bloomlake is adding: a rear ramp that comes all the way to the ground, so a wheelchair rolls straight on. Not yet in service.
Why families trust us

The quiet things done right

MnDOT licensed

Bloomlake operates as a licensed carrier with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Insured

We carry commercial insurance, so you and your family are riding with a covered company.

NPI on file

We hold a National Provider Identifier, the credential that lets covered rides be billed properly.

Local, with a real office

We work out of 220 S Robert St in St Paul. When you call during business hours, you are calling your own neighborhood, not a national line.

Coverage or private pay

Medical Assistance, participating plans, and out-of-pocket riders all book through the same number. No one gets turned away for how they pay.

Built around appointment times

We schedule pickups from your appointment time backward, with the traffic and the walk from the lot accounted for, so the ride serves the appointment and not the other way around.

Why Bloomlake

The land of 10,000 lakes deserves better medical rides

Too many medical rides feel like package delivery: a horn from the curb, a rushed transfer, a stranger every time. If you have ever waited on one, you know the feeling.

Bloomlake was started to be the other kind of company. Calm instead of chaotic. A door instead of a curb. A local team that answers its own phone, serves both Medical Assistance and private pay riders, and plans each ride around the appointment it exists for. That is the whole idea, and we would rather prove it on your first ride than say more here.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I book a ride?

Use the booking form at the top of this page. Give us the rider's name, a phone number, where you are going and when, and we call you back the same business day to confirm. You can also call (612) 314-3637 between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Either way, we confirm every detail with you before the ride day.

Do you accept Medical Assistance?

Yes. We serve riders covered by Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and participating health plans, and we also welcome private pay riders. If you are not sure what your plan covers, call us and we will help you sort it out.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can. The moment you have an appointment time, call us, especially for early morning pickups and standing schedules like dialysis. Booking early is the best way to lock in the pickup time you want.

Can a family member or caregiver ride along?

Yes. Tell us when you book so the seat is reserved and the driver is expecting two people. Caregivers and family members are also welcome to call and arrange rides on a rider's behalf.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible vehicles?

Not yet. Today Bloomlake provides ambulatory transportation, for riders who can walk to and from the vehicle with a steady arm if needed. Wheelchair-accessible service is coming soon. Call us and we can help you plan.

What if my appointment runs long?

It happens, and we plan for it. Call us or have the clinic front desk call, and we will adjust your return pickup. For sedation and procedure days, ask about Wait & Return so your driver is already nearby when you are released.

What areas do you serve?

St Paul and Ramsey County first, Minneapolis and Hennepin County, and communities across the Twin Cities metro. If you are anywhere in the metro area, call and we will tell you right away whether we can take the trip.
